Scaling a page's content to fit print medium

Keeping the Size Accuracy

To keep size accuracy, scaling must no happen to the document's content. It is printed as is: smaller on a larger medium.

The document defines a smaller size

In this case, the document's content defines a smaller size than the print medium has. In this mode a part of the print medium isn't used.

Example is printing an A5 sized document on an A4 medium (e.g. 148 mm/210 mm A5 size to 210 mm/297 mm A4 size). About 6 mm are cropped at both sides of the letter content.

A5 document format on A4 print medium

The default is to center the document's content in both directions. The alignment defaults can be changed by the printing parameters from the 'fit-align-*' type list.

Refer Supported Printing Parameter for Details.
