Printer Driver Launcher

Triggered via udev (The Printer Driver Launcher and udev) this is the second tool which is started after the Printer Preparation. It opens a filehandle to the printing device's device node, scans the CAPS Printer Driver Database Directory for the printing device's corresponding driver executable and launches it from the CAPS Printer Driver Executables Directory. After that, the printing device is known to the CAPS universe and clients can print on it.

Attention: Since this tool doesn't run with root permissions, access to the printer device node must be permitted externally.
